The Story
The annual Milford Fall Festival & Bed Race dates back to 1982. However, in 2012 there were scarce active volunteers and the annual fall festival was in jeopardy. A long-time Milford resident Wayne Miller stepped in and shared a vision that not only made sure the festival would go on, but that it would be better than ever, with live music and attractions such as pumpkin and face painting, antique bi-plane fly-over, a chili cook-off, crafters, an antique car display, an antique handrail car, the historical society’s photo display, and fireworks at the ball-field, and thus Milford Alive! was born.
Wayne's enthusiasm was unflagging and contagious, and the active members of the Milford Merchants Association and many other residents rallied around Wayne to make the first Milford Alive! happen. The Milford Fall Festival & Bed Race which began in 1982, was now MILFORD ALIVE! Since 2012, Milford Alive! has grown into a full-day street festival of live music, street performances, vendors, food, and fireworks. The Milford Merchants Association and volunteer residents are working hard to get Milford Alive! back to what it once was.
