Melissa Hamilton and Christopher Hirsheimer are cooks who write about home cooking. In 2007 they founded Canal House, which includes a publishing venture and a culinary, photography, and design studio. Their cookbook Canal House Cooks Every Day received a James Beard Award, and their blog, Canal House Cooks Lunch, is followed by thousands of readers who find inspiration in what they cook up each day. Recently they released their latest book, Cook Something: Recipes to Rely On.

Canal House Station Café & Restaurant, their latest endeavor, makes the food that fills the pages of their cookbooks come to life for everybody to enjoy!

Established in 2010 specializing in wedding and party cakes and custom order desserts. In 2016 we expanded into a retail specialty bake shop in Milford, NJ., making wholesome, old fashioned desserts and homemade candies, specialty cakes, and much more. Everything is made from scratch on the premises, using high quality premium ingredients. We source locally whenever possible from local farms and do not use preservatives. Baking classes and parties by appointment.

Descendant's Brewing Co. at The Old Ship Inn, New Jersey’s First Brew Pub provides a family-friendly pub atmosphere in the scenic Delaware Valley to enjoy craft-brewed ales and British-inspired foods with locally sourced and ecologically responsible ingredients. On January 3rd, 1995, The Ship Inn was proud to become the first brewpub in New Jersey to brew beer since prohibition.
