Their cookbook Canal House Cooks Every Day received a James Beard Award, and their blog, Canal House Cooks Lunch, is followed by thousands of readers who find inspiration in what they cook up each day. In 2016 we expanded into a retail specialty bake shop in Milford, NJ., making wholesome, old fashioned desserts and homemade candies, specialty cakes, and much more. This lovely church traces its origin to 1827 when Abigail Roberts, a rarity as a woman preacher, organized a congregation as the Christian Church of Milford. Today, the small but vibrant congregation welcomes all to its classic structure, rebuilt after a fire in 1940. The church is active in the community offering suppers, special events, and mission programs such as food drives and the “Ugly Quilters” who meet weekly to fashion bedrolls for the homeless.
